‘Show me how’ is a music development project for young people aged 12 to 16 which began in secondary schools in Wisbech and Chatteris in September 2016. This amazing project will provide training and work experience opportunities with industry experts as well as live performance experiences.
The young people will be expected to share their new skills with their peers to inspire them to develop their own skills. As well as development sessions locally, we will be holding an industry experience day where young people will work with industry professionals to put on a live event.
If this wasn’t enough, we will also be taking all the long people to work in a professional recording studio to cut some tracks!
Working with Cromwell Community College Rock Band, 16 young people went to the MAP studio for three days of recording. Day one the musicians only laid down two tracks as well as finding time to jam to some blues and jazz. Day two the vocalists joined the musicians and laid down the vocals to the musicians tracks. Day three the vocalists did some individual work and found time to record the ‘cup song’!

The Brickmakers in Norwich was the venue for a live music gig where Rock Band together with some other young people rocked the house supported by a host of professional musicians.
