Board of Young Creatives (BYC)

The BYC

The Board of Young Creatives is a group of young people aged 16 - 24 who have a passion for arts and culture. The group had their first official meeting in November 2020 via Zoom. So far they have set some aims they would like to achieve and will have various online training sessions in order to build their skills.

Some of the aims the board what to achieve are:

  • To make young people more aware of creative opportunities in their local area.
  • To raise awareness of creative careers.
  • Create a creative careers pack for young people to have more of an understanding of what a creative career is.
  • Hold a creative festival for young people.

Working with LCEPs

The BYC was set-up to help Local Cultural Education Partnerships have more of an understanding about what young people feel strong about relating to arts and culture and the board will be co-creating various projects with them.

What is an LCEP?

In each Local Cultural Education Partnership, a Bridge Organisation works with schools, the local authority, voluntary and community organisations, Higher Education, Music Education Hubs, and other funders to enable a cultural offer locally, to share resources and bring about a more joined up and visible delivery of cultural education.

In East Anglia there are 9 LCEP’s and we are looking for young people to join their local LCEP’s and become part of the conversation.

The BYC covers East Anglia and are keen to work with people from: Ipswich, Lowestoft, Forest Heath, West Norfolk, Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Fenland, Cambridge and Peterborough.

"Without our funders, 20Twenty Productions would not exist. In a world where all children and young people were treated with respect, equality, and afforded creative and artistic opportunities to express themselves, we would not need to."
