20Twenty Productions CIC was created on 25th October 2011. We are a not-for-profit organisation that uses creativity and participation to engage and empower children and young people so they may build confidence, essential skills for life and one or more creative skill sets. Working strategically, collaboratively and directly as creative practitioners we inspire young people to realise their potential whilst growing as leaders. Our programmes, projects and events are designed with and for young people. 20Twenty Productions supports creative industry development; empowering young people to gain qualifications and access real world opportunities. If you would like to know more about the work we do please email us.

Outside School

The Arts Council England state that involvement with arts and culture is crucial to imagination, self-expression and creativity in young people. It also develops the skills that fuel the success of the UK’s creative industries, and that will result in the next generation of creative talent across the country.

By giving your child time for unstructured art, you are allowing them time to explore and develop their creativity. Creativity is is the best way for your child to express themselves without judgment. Creativity fosters mental growth in children by providing opportunities to try out new ideas and new ways of thinking. Indeed Picasso put it best when he said "every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up."

COVID-19

The 20Twenty team are continuing to work with young people through Zoom sessions. This includes two of our Youth Theatre groups, our Community Ambassadors, Fenland Youth Advisory Board, Young Promoters and Creative Producers.

We will have a programme of ‘safe’ Summer Holiday activities that will be launched in July. If you would like to know more about what 20Twenty are up to please contact us at: Katherine@20twentyproductions.co.uk

YOUNG PROMOTERS, AGED 14-18

Working with 10 young people from the March and Chatteris area to develop their skills to programme, book artists, run tech, promote and support arts and cultural activities in March and Chatteris libraries, Cromwell Community College and March Town Hall as part of the Library Presents programme. Each Young Promoter will achieve a Silver Arts Award supported by a member of the 20Twenty team. If you would like to take part in the Young Promoter programme please email Katherine.

THEATRE GROUPS

We currently run three theatre groups which perform musical theatre, acting, singing and dancing. All groups will perform at least one main show each year alongside other community performances including, March GER Christmas Cracker, St Georges Fayre and our own fundraising events.

The first session is always a free introductory session to provide your child with a chance to decide if they believe they will enjoy being a member. The Youth Theatre sessions run during school term time at March Town Hall as follows:

  • Double Act. Ages 6 - 11. Tuesdays, 5pm - 6.30pm. Cost £4 per session.
  • All Stars. School years 7 & 8. Thursdays, 5pm - 7pm. Cost £5 per session.
  • Boundless. School years 9 - 13. Tuesdays, 7pm - 9pm. Cost £5 per session.

CONNECTIONS THEATRE FESTIVAL

The Connections Festival is a national competition involving 250 youth theatre groups. Groups perform 1 of 10 new plays. The play is performed in our own venue (March Town Hall) and a sister venue which, for ourselves, is either The Garage or Arts Playhouse in Norwich. These are in April each year. The group is for young people aged 14 - 19 and welcomes new members in May and June each year. If you are interested in any of our Youth Theatres please email Katherine.

"Without our funders, 20Twenty Productions would not exist. In a world where all children and young people were treated with respect, equality, and afforded creative and artistic opportunities to express themselves, we would not need to."
