This is a pilot project working with a full year 6 class which has been split in to 4 bands.
ROCK BAND In School
Students in a local year 6 class were placed into 4 different bands. Working with Music Development Manager Tom Harlock, the bands work hard to learn a new instrument, gain new skills and work together to put on a performance of 2 songs.
The sessions culminate in a performance in-front of their peers and parents, a showcase of everything they've learnt. We bring in a full PA and lighting system and turn the school hall into a proper concert venue!
Due to COViD 19, obviously we haven't been able to carry this on in the way we wanted. We have managed to move these sessions online and we currently have a group of 12 students all jamming along with Tom online via Zoom on Friday afternoons.
ROCK BAND in a week
This is a project we run during October half term. A group of young people sign up to a 3 day workshop of learning everything that goes into forming a band. Their main objective is to learn a set of songs to play to their parents and carers at the end of the week. They also have their own photoshoot with a professional photographer and use these photos to create their own social media promotion.
It's a really fun and LOUD workshop and we hope to run it again as soon as it's safe to do so.

"Without our funders, 20Twenty Productions would not exist. In a world where all children and young people were treated with respect, equality, and afforded creative and artistic opportunities to express themselves, we would not need to."
