“Wow! Yes indeed, the children have really being enjoying the Bushcraft sessions. They are talking about it in class. I have been un-in- dated with children asking if they can join in too. Phoenix and Caden are great ambassadors for your service”

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching the children interact with each other. Teamwork has been amazing. Those children who have struggled have been helped by the more confident children, and it’s been lovely to see.

A lot of children in our school really struggle with solving problems, whereas this programme has meant they’ve had to really think deeply about some of the issues and find solutions to those problems independently and as a team.

There has been a massive increase in resilience, perseverance, patience, and again, every year, the children are always asking in the year group below, will they have the opportunity to see this as well. The children who have already done it (in year six) have been sharing their experiences with the year fives as well, and can help, which is lovely to see. Just a huge thank you, because the children have enjoyed it, and we’ve enjoyed it too”.

RESILLIENCE PROGRAMME

Alderman Jacobs Primary School
SEN Lead

“Our children thoroughly enjoyed the Bushcraft activities and were fully engaged throughout the sessions. Pupils consistently looked forward to taking part and spoke confidently and enthusiastically about their experiences. They were able to clearly express what they liked about the activities, showing genuine enjoyment and interest in the hands-on, outdoor learning opportunities provided.

The staff were polite and approachable. All pupils participated positively and came away with memorable experiences.”

“As well as pupil voice we are able to report significant improvements in negative behaviours in class of one child who was on a Temporary reduced timetable for most of 2023 – 2024 due to his behaviour in school. This year he has been able to access learning and stay all day in a large part to do with the Resilience project. This has had a significant impact on his learning, he is now happy to read a book with an adult, and his confidence has improved. Parents notice and report that he is calmer at home.

We are thrilled to be able to work with 20Twenty Productions and look forward to doing so in the future. These children really have benefitted and become more resilient”.

“To be able to see this little group of children achieve success, work as a team, be safe, support each other and truly enjoy learning is invaluable.”

“The children so enjoy working with K and his team, seeing positive male role models engaging and interacting with the children really help.”

rock band

Alderman Payne Primary School

“I also wanted to say thank you for the other ways that 20twenty have supported us this year. Rockband finished yesterday with a showcase to parents and was a huge success. I was really pleased with how it ran and being able to spread it across year groups meant that more children had access and opportunities to engage with music which was wonderful. Better still, we have someone in weekly for musical instrument tuition and he offers all of the instruments that Rock band had which means that if children enjoy their taster and wish to learn the instruments, they have the option to do so. I would really like to do this again next year, either at the same time of year or in the Spring Term. We will be aiming for a Spring concert at the end of March so that could work well.”

five ways to wellbeing

“I think that the children very much enjoyed the Wellbeing sessions (they always looked forward to you coming in). I would say that the programme not only gave them some physical takeaways, in terms of the Worry Worms etc, but also strategies they can use to support their wellbeing both in and out of school.

When I have spoken with individual children, they told me that they were enjoying the programme and several asked when you would be back in for the final session so they definitely missed you! You were all supportive of the children and engaged well with them during the sessions. They felt comfortable talking to you.

On a final note, on behalf of the Year 6 students and staff, thank you so much for coming in and working with us. We all very much enjoyed it”

” At parents evening the other night, multiple grownups were saying that their children have been making their own stop motion films at home.”

I think the sessions have been fantastic. All the children have been highly engaged in each session. They have retained lots of knowledge and are able to use the key technical terms accurately. The teachers have been knowledgeable and always helpful with the children in guidance of how to make it better but also what they have done well. The children talk about the lesson all week and always ask when the next one is.

“Me and my sister have downloaded the app at home and we created our own film. It’s really funny at the end.”

“They’re really good. I like playing with the app. I enjoy building with the Lego and I like working in a group.”

“I really like stop Motion. I look forward to having fun, working with my friends and having a good time.”

“I like it so much I have it on my iPad at home. I like that we get to pick our own groups to work in. I think we should have more building challenges where you can’t hold the Lego.”

“I really really like stop Motion. I think we should use play dough.”

“We really like it. We enjoy taking the pictures on the app. We enjoy making stop motion films. We’d like to spend the whole session on one film.”

young author project

We had a hugely positive experience working with 20Twenty productions to write, illustrate and then sign our own anthologies. The project was well-designed and organised by the team of people who led it. It was wonderful to see the students of Year 5 feeling that they were real authors and had true ownership over the stories and illustrations. There was a buzz of excitement about this project and I hope it is something the students will remember for years to come. As teachers, we feel that it was a very beneficial curriculum enrichment activity and one that we would gladly participate in again.

“Thank you so much for finding time to let (pupil, name redacted) have a go on the instruments. He was having a really bad day, and as soon as he heard your name, he stopped strangling himself and wanted to play the drums.”
