Bits and Bytes

One of our popular robotics offers is Bits and Bytes. A 10-week programme for year five and six classes. This is a team based competition where children compete to earn points by showing good examples of team work, problem solving and resilience. On the final weeks, the points are added up and the top three team from each class are selected to come to March Town Hall to take part in our very own Robot Wars competition! See our most recent Robot Wars video below to check out the fun!

Teacher feedback

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching the children interact with each other. Teamwork has been amazing. Those children who have struggled have been helped by the more confident children, and it’s been lovely to see. A lot of children in our school really struggle with solving problems, whereas this programme has meant they’ve had to really think deeply about some of the issues and find solutions to those problems independently and as a team. There has been a massive increase in resilience, perseverance, patience, and again, every year, the children are always asking in the year group below, will they have the opportunity to see this as well. The children who have already done it (in year six) have been sharing their experiences with the year fives as well, and can help, which is lovely to see. Just a huge thank you, because the children have enjoyed it, and we’ve enjoyed it too” – Wisbech St. Mary Primary School
